Antioxidant, cholesterol lowering activity, and analysis of Caesalpinia bonducella seeds extract

Tombili plant (Caesalpinia bonducella) belongs to the family of Fabaceae. The seed extract of tombili has been empirically used as a traditional medicine. The purpose of this research was to fractionate tombili seed extract and test their antioxidant and cholesterol lowering activities. Extraction was made into fractions using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol as a solvent. The chemical compound of the ethyl acetate fraction was analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH method. The highest antioxidant activity was shown in ethyl acetate fraction with an IC50 value of 86.153 mikrogram/mL. The second was the methanol fraction with an IC50 value of 94.053 mikrogram/mL, and the third was the n-hexane fraction with an IC50 value of 100.933 mikrogram/mL. The cholesterol lowering activity analysis showed that all fractions could inhibit cholesterol. The highest anti-cholesterol activity shown in ethyl acetate fraction with the concentration of 600 mikrogram/mL can inhibit 81.5% of the cholesterol activity. The LC-MS/MS analysis showed that the ethyl acetate fraction contained glucoside, homoplantaginin, and vernolic acid compounds.

Study of Structure Activity Correlation of 7-O-Amide Hesperetine Derivative based on Descriptor Calculation by Using AM1 as Anti-Inflammatory Candidate

This study aims to study the quantitative relationship between molecular structure and biological activity (QSAR) of the 7-O-amide hesperetine derivative compounds and to design new compounds which are more potential as anti-inflammatory. This research was theoretically exploratory by using computational chemical methods. The object of this research was 23 derivative compounds of 7-O-Amide Hesperetine with their anti-inflammatory biological activity (IC50) values. The research data were obtained from the results of quantum chemistry calculations assist with computational chemistry code and statistical analysis of multiple linear regressions. The QSAR equation obtained was log IC50 = -2581,151 + (3127,454 × qC2) + (1884,436 × qC3) + (-1581,855 × qC11) + (8181,049 × qC8) + (-2166,325 ×qC4), where n = 23, R2 = 0.679, SEE = 0.092, Fcount /Ftable = 7189, and PRESS = 0.144. The best QSAR model.
Flavonoid Glycoside Compound from Tombili Seed (Caesalpinia bonducella) and its Antioxidant Activity

Caesalpinia bonducella, known as ‘tombili’belongs to the family of Fabaceae. Tombili has been empirically used as traditional medicine. In a previous study, phytochemical screening showed that tombili seed contained alkaloid, flavonoid, terpenoid, and tannin compounds. This research aimed to isolate an antioxidant compound from tombili seed extract. Fractionated using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol as a solvent. All fractions were tested for their antioxidant potential. The ethyl acetate fraction gave a better antioxidant potential (IC50 86.153±4.22 ppm) than it has purified. Characterization of an isolated compound using various spectroscopies data, including UV, FTIR, 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR, and LCMS/MS. The structure of the isolated compound was suggested as 7-(betha-D-Glucopyranosyloxy) 5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-6-methoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one (homoplantaginin). The IC50 value of the isolated compound was 40.53±3.13 ppm, indicating the isolated compound has potent antioxidant activity.
Pengaruh Pembelajaran Model Online Driver Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Materi Laju Reaksi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model online driver terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Bintauna. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan design one group pretest-posttest. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA 2 di SMA Negeri 1 Bintauna pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Penelitian ini, diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran kimia melalui pembelajar model online driver, kemudian diberikan pretest dan posttest pada kelas tersebut yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman siswa dengan diberikan tes objektif sebanyak 15 butir soal pada materi laju reaksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran model online driver pada siswa terdapat pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata pada pretest sebelum perlakuan 29, 80 dan pada posttest setelah diberikan perlakuan mencapai 68, 16. Dengan perhitungan uji N-Gain 0,542. Penelitian ini guru diharapkan dapat menerapkan pembelajaran model online driver dalam pembelajaran sebagai variasi metode mengajar.

Real Work Lectures at this time coincide with the COVID-19 pandemic, so it has implications for governance differences with normal times. Various work programs have been planned before going to the KKN location, including the manufacture of hydroponic media and aquaponics, making hand sanitizer using natural materials, making Pone's food, and the implementation of tutoring to increase interest in learning from children who have been studying online for a long time.
